Case Fees

The Metropolitan Tribunal serves all persons, regardless of ability to pay, thanks to the many generous donors who support the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Our standard case fees are posted below.

Ordinary or Briefer Process Case for Marriage Nullity

$450 for the first Ordinary or Briefer Process case

$250 for the second Ordinary or Briefer Process case for the same Petitioner

$150 for the third Ordinary or Briefer Process case for the same Petitioner

Documentary Process Case (e.g., Lack of Canonical Form)

$150 for the first Documentary Process (including Lack of Canonical Form)

$125 for the second Documentary Process case for the same Petitioner

$100 for the third Documentary Process case for the same Petitioner

Thank you for paying the entire case fee when you submit your petition. Or, you may pay $100 as a deposit when you submit your petition and pay the remainder of the balance when the case ends.
If your financial situation is difficult and you cannot pay the case fee, YOU MAY SUBMIT YOUR PETITION WITHOUT PAYMENT. We do not want finances to be a barrier! All cases are handled the same, regardless of whether or not a payment is made.

Checks should be made payable to AOSA (which stands for the Archdiocese of San Antonio) and mailed to us at Tribunal, 2718 W. Woodlawn Ave., San Antonio, TX 78228.

Regarding Necessary Documents

Baptized Catholics should submit a recently issued Baptismal Certificate with notations from their church of baptism.
Those married in the Catholic Church should submit a Marriage Certificate from their church of marriage or have notation on Baptismal Certificate.
Those married in a non-Catholic ceremony should submit a certified copy of their civil Marriage License.
Please obtain a certified copy of your Divorce Decree.
We understand that it may be difficult to obtain these documents; please consult the Tribunal for help if needed.

Other Notes for Submitting Petitions

Prepare a separate petition form for each marriage to be investigated.
Make a scan or copy of your work before mailing it to the Tribunal.

Prenuptial Packet Forms

These forms are for use by Parish Staff only. If you have any questions about these forms or need help with special cases, please do not hesitate to contact the Tribunal.

Note: Prenuptial packets for couples celebrating marriage outside of the US should be sent to the Tribunal at least 2 months prior to the wedding date and should be accompanied by $100 to assist with mailing costs. This $100 payment can be made by couples by following this link: https://archsa.regfox.com/tribunal-mailing-fee
